Oman tennis: Fatma Al Nabhani enters doubles quarterfinals in Tunisia

Muscat: After winning the singles title in the first tournament, Omani star Fatma Al Nabhani stormed into the doubles quarterfinals of the second of the back-to-back $15,000 ITF Pro Circuit Hammamet Open in Tunisia on Tuesday.
Interestingly Fatma teamed up with Bulgaria’s Isabella Shinikova, whom the Omani beat for the singles title in the first tournament two days ago.
In the first round of the doubles competition on Tuesday, top seeds Fatma and Isabella cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 victory over unseeded pair of Sofia Booth of the U.S. and Alice Vigliansi of Italy.
In the last eight stage, Fatma and Isabella will square off against Andrea Ghitescu of Romania and Caroline Romeo of Frane.
Andrea and Caroline advanced to the quarterfinals without hitting a ball as they received a walkover from Patricia Boentgen of Germany and Givlia Crescenzi of Italy.
In the singles competition, Fatma is scheduled to start her campaign with a match against Loudmilla Bencheikh of France.
While Fatma won the singles crown in the first tournament defeating Isabella 6-3, 6-1 in the summit clash, she also reached the semifinals of the doubles in the company of Katharina Hering.
