Oman Oil Company, Rusnano sign partnership agreement

Muscat: Oman Oil Company (OOC) signed a partnership and cooperation agreement with Russian company “Rusnano” in the fields of oil and gas during the Omani-Russian Business Forum hosted by Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI).
Said bin Saleh Al Kiyoumi, Chairman of OCCI stressed the importance of activating bilateral business councils, especially the Omani-Russian Business Council, saying: “This is what OCCI is currently working on”.
He added that OCCI is working with the concerned authorities to nominate the head of the Omani side in the Omani-Russian Business Council. He said that the next stage will witness more activity in the economic and investment field with the Russian side.
The Head of the Russian delegation hoped that this visit would open a wide door to increase and improve trade and investment relations between the private sector. He stressed the importance of improving trade and investment relations in both countries, calling on Omani businessmen to benefit from the major investment opportunities in Russia.
The forum included presentations from the Omani and Russian sides, including a presentation by Ithraa on the opportunities, benefits and incentives for investment in the Sultanate. The Special Economic Zone in Duqm (SEZD) submitted a presentation on investment opportunities in the Duqm zone and the advantages and incentives provided by the Government to the investor. A working paper was presented on the development of trade and investment relations between the Sultanate and Russia that highlighted the advantages of investment in the oil and gas sectors in Russia.
The Russian delegation includes Russian businessmen representing more than 40 companies from major Russian companies in various fields of industry, trade, services and advanced technology.
