Scottish singing sensation KT Tunstall to enthral crowd in Muscat

Muscat: Residents in Oman can look forward to enjoying an absolutely memorable start to November, with Scottish singing sensation KT Tunstall expected to rock the capital on the first of next month.
Her one-night only act will be preceded by a jazz special, featuring legendary British saxophonist Albie Donnelly, who with his band, Supercharge, will be the headline act of the Jazz Gardens special on October 19. Music lovers will love the Jazz Gardens extravaganza, which will also feature award-winning indie jazz artist Catie Waters and English singer-songwriter Ryan Keen, at the Shangri La Barr Al Jissah Resort in Muscat.
Tunstall and the Jazz Gardens are being brought to Oman by Alive Entertainment, a pan-Middle East event management and entertainment company.
“She will showcase her most famous hits as well asplay new songs from her ‘Golden State’ EP and many others from her backcatalogue,” said Gordon Mackenzie, managing director for Alive Entertainment. “Used to playing sell outs stadiums around the world, KT is looking forward to playing a much more intimate concert in Muscat where she will be onstagealone with her guitars where she will create backing tracks live.
“Supporting her will be Ryan Keen, a performer well-known to the thousandswho flocked to the Ed Sheeran concert, also brought Muscat by AliveEntertainment, in which he was the support act,” he added.
A BRIT award winner with Grammy and Mercury Prize nominations under her belt, KT’s arrival in Muscat is just the latest stop on her world tour, which also features performances in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, as she looks to promote her ‘Golden State’ and ‘KIN’ albums. While there might be those who haven’t heard of her signature style of folk rock, she’s fast making a name for herself, and her music has already been featured as the theme tune to smash TV hit Ugly Betty.
Tickets for the KT Tunstall concert on the first of November can be bought online through www.kttunstall.me, or from Mackenzie’s Café located in the PDO golf course clubhouse. Tickets cost OMR25 for standard seating and OMR35 for the fan seats at the front. Earlybirds can get standard tickets at OMR20 if purchased before the 20th of October.
