Foreign Minister, Awqaf Minister receive German Federal Parliament president in Oman

Muscat: Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs received at the General Diwan of the ministry on Wednesday Professor Norbert Lammert, President of the German Federal Parliament (Bundestag) and his accompanying delegation, currently visiting the Sultanate.
The two sides discussed the growing ties between the two friendly countries and means of enhancing them.
They also reviewed the latest developments in regional and international issues of common concern. It was attended by Dr. Mohammed bin Awad Al Hassan, Acting Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Diplomatic Affairs, a number of officials at the Foreign Ministry and the German Ambassador to the Sultanate.
Separately, Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Salmi, Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs received in his office on Wednesday Professor Norbert Lammert, President of the German Federal Parliament (Bundestag).
During the meeting, Sheikh Al Salmi reviewed the Sultanate’s role in enhancing values of tolerance and coexistence.
Sheikh Al Salmi explained that the Sultanate’s role in this regard is obvious through its participation in the regional and international events that contribute in disseminating understanding and religious tolerance.
He pointed out to the “Message of Islam from Oman” Exhibitions, which contribute in disseminating and enhancing the culture of coexistence and understanding among cultures and nations.
On his turn, the German guest hailed the Sultanate’s pioneering roles in this regard.
