One dead, two injured after collapse during maintenance work in Oman

Muscat: One person died and two others were seriously injured after a collapse at an excavation site in Madha, according to rescue workers.
"One dead and two injured due to the collapse of excavations during the maintenance of a falaj in Wilayat Mahdha in Al Buraimi Governorate," the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA) said in a statement online.
The Operations Centre of the General Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance received a report on the collapse of excavations for the maintenance of a falaj in Abul village in Wilayat Mahdha. Immediately, rescue and ambulance teams were directed to the site.
The civil defence teams were able to remove one dead person from under the rubble, and two other people were taken to hospital in critical condition.
PACDA warned workers and institutions to comply with safety procedures during digging and maintenance work, in order to avoid similar incidents.
