Infra Oman kicks off with India as country of honour

Muscat: Oman’s biggest and only exhibition related to construction and Infrastructure was opened at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre on Monday under the patronage of Dr. Rasheed bin Al Safi Al Hraibi, Chairman of the Tender Board.
India is the country of honour at 7th Infra Oman which features more than 20 companies from India looking for business partners in the vibrant Omani market.
Infra Oman, dubbed as one of the largest building and construction expo in the Middle East has been continuously defining the industry’s development for the last 6 years. It is considered as the annual meeting place for industry leaders, suppliers and buyers in the Sultanate of Oman. Infra Oman has proved to be an ideal starting point not only for the local companies, but also for foreign entities that are more determined to be part of Oman’s growing market.
The exhibition will focus on Construction Requirements, Green & Future Buildings, Heavy Equipment & Technologies, Hotel & Tourism Projects, Industrial Free Zones, Industrial Manufacturing, Power & Water Technologies, Tools & Equipment’s, Transportation & Logistics, Infrastructure Projects – Roads, Airports, and Railways & Ports – Build & Supply and other Development Projects. Electro Oman – Oman’s leading exhibition in Power, Electricity and Lighting is co-located with Infra Oman. Electro Oman is dedicated solely to energy and clearly partitioned to cover all aspects of the sector, including electricity, water, lighting and HVAC, with a special emphasis on sustainable solutions and renewable energies.
Capitalising on its huge appeal among experts, business people and the general public, Electro Oman will draw a large number of decision-makers and professionals in the field, including government representatives, investors and buyers both from the region and neighboring countries.
Infra Oman & Electro Oman 2017 features more than 200 local and international exhibitors from countries like Austria, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, India Iran, Lebanon, Libya, Luxembourg, Morocco, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, South Korea, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
For the first time there is a pavilion from Qatar with 34 exporters, which is sponsored by QDB looking to penetrate the growing Oman market.
Also co-located with both the expos will be the Oman Industrial Summit; a two-day conference. The summit features the market assessment and forecasts covering public procurement and spending on all major infrastructure and construction projects, including transportation and logistics by land, sea and air; power plants and utilities, and commercial construction and property development.
Salim bin Omar Al Hashmi, Chairman of Al Nimr Expo, said, “Infra Oman is the ideal platform for all contractors and developers to meet, thus giving them an opportunity to present their projects and achievements and source their requirements. Infra Oman has grown significantly since its inception in 2011, thus establishing itself as the Middle East’s leading infrastructure and industrial projects exhibition”.
