Survey to help build future transport model for Oman

Muscat: A comprehensive national survey for the transport sector will start next week in the governorates of the Sultanate. The survey is part of the preparations for the national construction development strategy, which is currently being developed by the Supreme Council for Planning.
The implementation of this programme comes in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Communications and Royal Oman Police.
The national survey programme for the transport sector is the first of its kind in the Sultanate.
It will assess the public and private transport traffic to forecast the transport traffic in the future.
The survey is one of the key planning tools that will contribute to taking strategic decisions to build a national model for transport.
The programme includes a number of field surveys for all transport movements in all the governorates of the Sultanate, which will be covered by interviews and questionnaires with vehicle drivers to identify the traffic trends.
