Oman Cricket: Faizal Koya inspires Aster, Lulu defeat Kone CT

Muscat: All-rounder Faizal Koya played a stellar role in Aster Hospital’s 106-run victory over Bowsher Olympic Centre (BOC) in an H Division match at OAC Ground III in Seeb.
Faizal first contributed a vital 38 runs off just 16 balls with six fours and a six to lift his side’s total to 205 for six in 20 overs.
Later, he was instrumental in Aster Hospital dismissing BOC for a paltry 99, taking three wickets for just nine runs.
Asked to bat first, Aster piled up a huge total thanks to a fluent 54 off 46 balls by Mahadi Kunath and 48 off 24 by Muhammed Basheer. Nakul Mahesh and Siddhant Gavankar took two wickets each.
Facing a daunting total, BOC folded up for just 99 in 15.2 overs with only Saif Shamsuddin batting well to score 41 off 29 balls. Fasal Rahman and Shine Mathew bagged three and two wickets respectively.

Navas bowls Lulu to victory
Lulu Hypermarket edged Kone CT in a three-wicket victory, thanks to a superb spell by Navas Ibrahim who took four wickets for just nine runs in an I Division match at OAC Ground III.
Electing to bowl first after winning the toss, Lulu bowled out Kone for 141 in 18.3 overs. For Kone, only Mithun Kumar played well to score 53 off 38 balls. Ansal Chalil Ali bowled well to claim three wickets for Lulu.
Struggling at 65 for five, Lulu recovered to surpass the target in 17.5 overs, scoring 145 for seven, thanks to crucial knock by Miras Muhammed (34 off 28), Pramod Nayarangadi (30 off 32) and Shahul Hameed (23 off 9). Harshith Kumar took three wicket for 35.

Smit hits ton in MCCC A win

In an Under-16 Inter-school League game reduced to 29 overs-a-side, MCCC A handed MCCC B a massive 138-run defeat, thanks to a brilliant 102 off 83 by young Smit Asher at Muscat Municipality Ground II.
Batting first, MCCC A put a huge total on board, scoring 296 for four in 29 overs. Apart from Smit, Ashar Muhammed batted well too for his 45-ball 53.
In reply, MCCC B could manage only 158 for eight in 29 overs. Only Palash Gandhi managed to score in double figures, compiling a stubborn 53 off 86 balls. Jayanth Sharma claimed two wickets for nine runs.

In the Women’s League, Indian School Ghubrah (ISG) defeated Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir (ISWK) by seven wickets in a 20-over match at Ministry of Sports Affairs Ground I in Al Amerat.
Winning the toss and batting first, ISWK scored 115 for two in 20 overs, thanks to an unbeaten 32 by Mamta Thakur and 20 not out by Rajesh Shajina.
ISG reached the target in 18 overs, scoring 116 for three, thanks to superb batting by Nayan Anil (40 not out) and Priyanka Mendonca (26).
