Oman, Nepal hold official talks session in Muscat

Muscat: An official session of talks was held at the Council of Ministers headquarters in Muscat on Tuesday between the Sultanate and the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.
The Omani side was chaired by His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers while the Nepalese side was led by Sher Bahadur Deuba, Prime Minister of Nepal.
At the beginning of the session, the Prime Minister of Nepal conveyed greetings of the President of Nepal and its government to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said along with best wishes of permanent success to His Majesty and the Government, and the Omani people further growth and prosperity.
On his turn, Sayyid Fahd expressed the Sultanate’s welcome to the guest and his accompanying delegation during this visit, as well as its outcome at the level of the bilateral cooperation between the two sides.
He also commended the cordial relations binding the two friendly countries.
The Omani-Nepalese talks touched on means that guarantee to promote aspects of the bilateral cooperation in economic and trade fields, as well as encouraging mutual investments and benefiting from opportunities available in economic and free zones at both countries to serve interests of the two countries’ friendly peoples.
Sher Bahadur Deuba, Prime Minister of Nepal affirmed that this visit came to push the relations between the two countries in trade, agricultural, educational and health areas, as well as exchanging trade delegations particularly his country welcomes joint investment and Omani investors to invest in Nepal, in addition to sharing expertise in various fields.
He also expressed his country’s aspiration to sign several agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoU) to support the bilateral relations. Sayyid Fahd asked the Prime Minister of Nepal to convey greetings of His Majesty the Sultan to the President of Nepal and its government along with His Majesty’s good wishes to them, and the friendly Nepalese people further progress and welfare.
The session was attended from the Omani side by the Minister of Commerce and Industry, the Minister of Manpower, the Minister of Transport and Communications (Head of the Mission of Honour accompanying the Prime Minister of Nepal), the Minister of Education, the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, the Minister of Civil Service, Minister of State, Governor of Muscat, Minister of Social Development and a number of dignitaries, Head of West Asia Department at the Foreign Ministry and Head of Economic Sector at the Foreign Ministry whilst it was attended from the Nepalese side by members of the official delegation accompanying the Prime Minister of Nepal.
