Oman to boost military cooperation with Italy

Rome: Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib Al Busaidi, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs, held an official session of talks with Italian Minister of Defence Roberta Pinotti during his official visit to the Italian Republic.
Upon the arrival of the Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs at the headquarters of the Italian Ministry of Defence, a group of honour guard performed the military salute to the Minister and the music band played the Royal Anthem of Oman and Italian national anthem.
A joint official session of talks was then held between the Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs and the Italian defence Minister. During the talks, they reviewed the good relations between the two friendly countries and discussed issues of common concern, and the existing spheres of military cooperation between the two ministries of defence in the two countries, and ways of strengthening them in the common interests of both sides.
The talks were attended by Air Vice-Marshal Matar bin Ali Al Oubaidani, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman, Dr. Ahmed bin Salim BaOmer, Sultanate’s Ambassador to the Italian Republic, and the delegation accompanying the Minister. The talks were also attended from the Italian side by a number of military and civil officials at the Italian Ministry of Defence.
