More residential plots were allocated in Muscat this year

Muscat: There has been a 24.5 per cent increase in the number of residential plots granted in the Governorate of Muscat during August 2017, which is the highest among all the governorates.
However, there was a 12.5 per cent decline in the number of residential plots granted all over Oman to 19,505 at the end of August this year compared to 22,299 residential plots granted at the end of August 2016, according to the NCSI.
While 582 residential plots were granted during August 2017 for the Governorate of Muscat, 545 residential plots were granted for the Governorate of A’Dakhiliyah.
The number of residential plots granted for Muscat registered an increase by 38.8 per cent to reach 2,081 at the end of August compared to 1,499 at the end of August last year.
Compared to the end of August 2016, when only 196 residential plots were granted for Musandam, 1,152 residential plots were granted at the end of August 2017, registering a 487.8 per cent increase, the data showed.
The number of residential plots granted for the Governorate of South Al Batinah registered a 32.7 per cent growth to 5,185 until the end of August this year compared to 3,908 until the end of August 2016.
The number of residential plots granted in the Governorate of Al Buraimi registered a 170.8 per cent growth to 704 compared to 260 at the end of August 2016.
The Governorate of A’Dakhiliyah was granted 4,485 residential plots during the period under review compared to 4,257 at the end of August 2016.
In the Governorate of Al Wusta, the number of residential plots granted until the end of August this year increased to 906 compared to 589 at the end of August 2016.
The number of residential plots granted in the Governorate of North Al Batinah declined by 84.3% to stood at 437 compared to 2,783 at the end of August last year.
Similarly, the number of residential plots granted in the Governorate of A’Dhahirah witnessed a decline by 85.6% to stand at 3,512 at the end of August last year to 505 residential plots at the end of August 2017, according to the NCSI data.
