Muscat: Shares on the Muscat bourse recovered on better support from local investors. The benchmark MSM30 Index increased and closed at 4,997.53 points on Tuesday, higher by 0.21 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index gained 0.34 per cent to close at 739.19 points.
Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of traded volume and in terms of turnover. It was the top gainer, rising by 9.21 per cent, while Bank Sohar was the only loser, lower by 1.95 per cent.
A total number of 770 trades were executed on Tuesday, generating turnover of OMR2.064 million with 13.959 million shares changing hands. Out of 38 traded securities, 15 advanced, one declined and 22 remained unchanged.
Financial Index closed at 7343.61 points, up by 0.16 per cent. Muscat Finance and Al Madina Investment increased by 1.77 per cent, 1.59 per cent. Bank Sohar was down by 1.95 per cent.
Industrial Index gained by 0.92 per cent before closing at 6,902.82 points. Prices of Galfar Engineering and Raysut Cement gained by 9.21 per cent, and 2.27 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed at 2,521.26 points, up by 0.37 per cent. Port Services gained by 4.06 per cent.
