Duqm gets a new post office

Muscat: Operations at the new Al Duqm post office in Al Wusta officially began on Sunday the 10th of September, as part of Oman Post's plans to expand and increase services to customers.
The Al Duqm branch, which carries the postal code 700, and is Oman Post's 83rd in the Sultanate, offers a wide range of postal services such as regular mail, registered mail, postal parcels, urgent mail and mail follow-up in the event of a delay in the arrival of postal materials to the consignee.
The mailbag service enables senders to directly send mail to one another, while the follow-up mail service enables post box subscribers to transfer mail to new addresses, either inside or outside the Sultanate. Furthermore, the post office offers address recovery and modification service, allowing the sender to retrieve post sent either within the Sultanate or abroad, provided that it has not reached the consignee. This service requires a fee.
The mailbag service enables governmental and private institutions to send important documents to other branches within the Sultanate. This service requires a fee, after the payment of which a contract is signed specifying the period of time that the service is required for. Meanwhile the fixed and mobile postal service is provided to institutions or individuals wishing to pay a fee for a fixed postal address.
Oman Post also provides issuance and renewal of certificate of affiliation to the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as the issuance and renewal of residency visas.
