Oman shares end lower on profit booking

Muscat: The MSM30 Index ended negatively at 5,038.69 points, a loss of 0.35 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index declined 0.24 per cent to close at 735.43 points. NBO was the most active in terms of volume while Al Maha Petroleum led in terms of turnover.
Renaissance Services, up 8.82 per cent, was the top gainer while Vision Insurance was the top loser, down 7.28 per cent.
A total number of 474 trades were executed on Monday, generating turnover of OMR2.60 million with 11.61 million shares changing hands. Out of 36 traded securities, 5 advanced, 10 declined and 21 remained unchanged. At the end of the session, GCC & Arab Investors remained net buyers for OMR518,000 while Omani Investors were net sellers for OMR493,000 followed by Foreign Investors for OMR25,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 7,502.99 points, down 0.15 per cent. Al Madina Takaful and Al Ahlia Insurance gained 1.92 per cent and 0.63 per cent respectively. Vision Insurance, Gulf Investment Services, Al Izz Bank, Al Anwar Holding and Bank Muscat declined 7.28 per cent, 3.66 per cent, 1.39 per cent, 1.24 per cent and 1.03 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.17 per cent to end at 6,800.02 points. Gulf International Chemicals gained 4.48 per cent while Galfar Engineerind slid 2.60 per cent respectively.
Services Index advanced 0.51 per cent to finish at 2,467.33 points. Renaissance Services and Port Services increased 8.82 per cent and 1.70 per cent respectively. Al Jazeera Services, Ooredoo, Omantel and OIFC declined 2.08 per cent, 1.38 per cent, 1.22 per cent and 0.61 per cent respectively.
