Oman football: Gulf Cup will go ahead as scheduled in Qatar, says Oman FA official

Muscat: Dispelling doubts over the forthcoming Gulf Cup, Oman Football Association (OFA) official Jassim bin Mohammed Al Shukaili revealed that the 23rd edition of the regional football championship will be held as scheduled in Qatar.
In a statement to the Oman News Agency, Jassim bin Mohammed Al Shukaili, the second vie-chairman of the OFA, said the championship will be organised in the Qatari capital of Doha from December 23, 2017 to January 5, 2018.
Jassim Al Shukaili, who is also a member of the executive office of GCC Football Federation and chairman of the marketing committee, said the championship will see the participation of eight teams - Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, Iraq, Yemen and hosts Qatar.
Meanwhile, Jasim Al Romaihi, Secretary General of the GCC Football Federation, said that the Gulf Cup draw will take place on December 25 as agreed with chairpersons of GCC football associations.
