Oman athletics: Edward Black emerges overall winner at MRR Zawawi Colas Summer Series

Muscat: Overcoming stiff competition and tough conditions, Edward Black emerged the overall winner of the fourth race of the Muscat Road Runners (MRR) Zawawi Colas Summer Series.

According to information provided by the organisers, the race saw more than 70 participants race around the undulating 5k off-road course in Al Amerat.

Edward Black clocked 20:21 to take the overall title. He was closely followed in the second place by Hamed Al Mahrooqi in a time of 20:51.

Jerome Duboe settled for the third place in 21:00.

Meanwhile, Birgit Schulz took the first place in the women’s category and seventh overall in a time of 23:11.

The winner of the junior 3k race was James in a time of 14:51 with Lucy second in 16:30 and Finlay third in 17:15.

The organisers thanked the race directors, the volunteers, water stations and photographs and Summer Series sponsors Zawawi Colas for the success of the race.
