Oman volleyball: Shihab Aldin Al Riyami successfully conducts Asian volleyball coaches course in Sri Lanka

Muscat: Adding another feather to his cap, Oman’s Shihab Aldin Al Riyami has successfully conducted AVC Asian Coaches Course in Sri Lanka drawing praise from the host country’s volleyball federation and the participants.
Shihab Al Riyami, Oman’s FIVB Coaches Instructor who has conducted many coaches courses, workshops and seminars across the world, was nominated by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) to organise the course in Sri Lanka.
The course, which ran from August 19 to 25 at Heiyanthuduwa Training Centre in Colombo, attracted 35 participants from different countries.
“We had 35 participants from Army, police, sports clubs, schools and coaches. Six women as well as seven former players national teams also took part in the course,” Shihab Al Riyami said.

Shihab Al Riyami, who also handed the certificates to the successful candidates during in the presence of Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Sri Lanka’s Minister of Power and Renewable Energy, and Sri Lankan Volleyball Federation officials, said: “The course is part of AVC’s plans to develop the skills of the coaches and their knowledge through seminars, workshops and courses.”
“The course in Sri Lanka included theory and practical sessions with having modern teaching and training ways in volleyball,” Shihab, who has so far conducted more than 24 courses and seminars, added.
