“I wanted to capture the beauty of the Nizwa Souq, so I decided to take a photo from a high angle using a drone; it took me approximately 20 minutes to finally get the perfect composition and angle,” said Al Farsi.
Al Mouj Muscat, in collaboration with the Oman Photography Society, had organised the first “Al Mouj Muscat Photography Competition” to mark Oman’s 47th Renaissance Day celebrations.

“Winning this competition means a lot to me, mainly because the competition was based on Renaissance Day and so it is very special to me,” said Al Farsi.
His photo was chosen from among 520 applicant photos, 140 photographers applied to the competition and from among that 37 were accepted.
The winners of the competition were announced last week, in an exhibition at Al Mouj Muscat. The competition was open to both professional and amateur photographers.
“Winning the competition also gave me more confidence, to do more in photography.”
