U.S. President Donald Trump tells supporters gathered at an Arizona rally that the border wall with Mexico will be built, even if 'we have to close down the government.' No reporter narration.
U.S. President Donald Trump vowed to make good on his campaign promise to build a wall on the U.S. border with Mexico.
Trump was speaking to thousands of his supporters in Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday (August 22).
"Build that wall. Now the obstructionist democrats would like us not to do it but believe me, if we have to close down our government, we're building that wall. Let me be very clear to democrats in Congress who oppose a border wall and stand in the way of border security. You are putting all of America's safety at risk. You're doing that. You're doing that."
Before flying to Phoenix Trump landed in Yuma, Arizona, near the Mexican border, for a tour of border security facilities.
He is seeking congressional funding for the wall he wants built along the border to deter illegal immigration.
