Travelex appointed forex provider at new Muscat International Airport

Muscat: Travelex, the world’s leading foreign exchange specialist, has been appointed as one of the foreign exchange (forex) providers at the new Muscat International Airport, which is expected to open in October 2017.
The five-year contract for four stores will enable Travelex to serve the up to 12 million travellers using the significantly larger, state-of-the-art terminal.
Stephen O’Donovan, chief commercial officer at Travelex said: “We’re proud to have a presence in Oman and excited to support the continued growth in this region. Oman represents a gateway to the Middle East, which is an important region for Travelex’s global strategy and long-term profitable growth.”
Travelex has been serving customers in Oman for 12 years at the existing airport. Over this time, Travelex has developed a strong understanding of the local market.

Samer Al Nabhani, general manager of Commercial Operations, Oman Airports Management Company said: “This new agreement reflects the strong relationship between Travelex and the Oman Airports Management Company. We have awarded the foreign exchange business to two companies for the next five years. Having worked with Travelex at the current airport, we have experienced its proven track record in customer service, offering competitive exchange rates for the travellers, as well as reliable support.”
