75 infiltrators held by Royal Oman Police

Muscat: More than 70 infiltrators were arrested last week for illegally entering the country, according to weekly statistics issued by the General Directorate of Operations in the Royal Oman Police (ROP).

“35 in Dhofar Governorate, 22 in North Batinah, eight in Muscat, six in South Batinah , three in Al Buraimi and one in the Wusta area,” the ROP said.

Last week, the ROP deported 44 infiltrators from Asian and African nationalities after coordinating with their embassies.

“The statistics indicated the presence of 358 detained individuals by the leaders of the police force where they are being investigated for illegal infiltration into the country, and may take legal action in preparation for deportation to countries,” the ROP said.
