Muscat: Senior state officials hailed winning the first place by the Royal Navy of Oman Vessel (RNOV) Shabab Oman II in the long sail vessels regatta in the Baltic Sea among 104 participating vessels.

Salim bin Nasser Al Ismaili, Chairman of the Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development (Ithraa) said, “I am pleased to congratulate His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said on winning the International Friendship Cup 2017 by the RNOV Shabab Oman II. This achievement comes as a fruit of the Royal directives for the Omani youth to polish their skills and develop their capacities”.

The Ithraa chairman also congratulated the Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs, the Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) and the vessel’s crew members on this international major achievement during the voyage themed Friendship and Peace Sail. He prayed to Allah the Almighty to protect His Majesty, Oman, its people and bestow blessings of further progress and prosperity on Oman.

Ahmed bin Nasser Al Meherzi, Minister of Tourism said, “With pride and gratitude, I am pleased to congratulated the Royal Navy of Oman and Shabab Oman II for winning the International Friendship Cup. Lt.Gen Ahmed bin Harith al-Nabhani, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) expressed his gratitude over this achievement by saying “I congratulate the RNOV Shabab Oman II and its crew on winning the International Friendship Cup during its 3rd international voyage. He added that the vessel has managed, by Allah will, to embody the Royal thought of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, the Supreme Commander of Armed Forces who always promotes peace and harmony, dissemination of love among nations around the world stemming from His Majesty’s belief on the importance of peace and welfare in countries of the world, their peoples and communities.

Rear Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis Al Ra’eesi, RNO Commander commended the honorary achievements made by the RNOV Shabab Oman II by saying, “While following up such national glorious achievements being made by Shabab Oman II during its third international voyage, which were crowned by winning the International Friendship Cup, I am pleased to extend congratulations to His Majesty, the Supreme Commander of Armed Forces, all personnel at SAF and the generous Omani people on this national achievement, which comes as per the Royal Directives of His Majesty the Sultan”.

Eng. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Dheeb, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said, “We congratulate the RNOV Shabab Oman II and its crew on winning the International Friendship Cup 2017.

This achievement signifies the capability of the Omani youth to compete at the international level and prove their presence among all participation countries”.

Dr. Issam bin Ali Al Rowas, Deputy Chairman of the Public Authority for Craft Industries (PACI) said, “Within the framework of the RNOV Shabab Oman II participation at the International Marine Festival and achieving great and advanced places, I extend warm congratulations to the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, the Founder and Sponsor of Shabab Oman Vessel’s projects as an ambassador of friendship among peoples around the world”.

Said bin Saleh Al Kiyoumi, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) also congratulated Shabab Oman II for winning the International Friendship Cup 2017 by saying, “The RNOV Shabab Oman II embodies, through this achievement, the far-sighted, wise vision of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, as well as His Majesty’s deep belief in values of security, peace and peaceful coexistence among peoples and nations, in addition to His Majesty’s generous directives in disseminating the noble values to achieve growth, welfare and prosperity for all countries and peoples around the world”.
