Gulf citizen, five others arrested in two separate cases in Oman

Muscat: A Gulf citizen and two other individuals were arrested by the North Batinah police, according to a statement by the Royal Oman Police (ROP).
“The Department of Criminal Investigations in Liwa, led by the North Batinah police, arrested three people, including a person of GCC nationality, on charges of abuse and robbery under duress,” the statement said.
“The Liwa police received a report that three people entered a citizen’s house and assaulted him with a wooden stick, and robbed the citizen of OMR2,000 and stole a number of mobile phones,” an official at the ROP said.
In another case, the Department of Criminal Investigations in the Shinas police station in North Batinah governorate arrested three citizens on charges of abuse and robbery.
“The accused had attacked one of the workers at a fueling station in the area of Widyat in Shinas while he was attending his duties and they fled. After inspecting and searching for the suspects, they were arrested and confessed to the charges against them,” the ROP said.
