Charity in Oman hands over 36 homes to the needy

Muscat: A registered charity in the Sultanate has handed over 36 homes as part of its charity drive.
Al Jisr Charity Foundation has successfully completed and delivered the 36 homes since the beginning of 2017.
The charity collaborated with the Ministry of Housing, to provide housing assistance for needy and underprivileged families that are entitled to Zakat across Oman.
During 2017, 18 projects were completed in Muscat, seven in Al-Batinah, eight in Al-Sharqiyah, and three in Al-Dakhiliyah.
The housing projects were divided accordingly into construction (29), purchase (six), and maintenance (one).
Al Jisr aspires to establish itself as a leading charitable organisation through society empowerment. Since its inception, the charity’s team has worked to promote the full participation of people in their communities by fostering self-empowerment.
Shelter represents the fundamental base of Al Jisr’s hierarchy of support, which provides the stepping-stone to achieving the ultimate goal of self-realisation.
Since the establishment of Al Jisr, more than 416 houses have been provided, of which, 63 homes were provided just
last year. The foundation is not only working on addressing the basic needs of the society, but is also innovating a wide range philanthropic programmes and activities that can provide a sustainable solution to the underlying problems faced in Oman.
