17 integrated tourism stations this year to boost domestic travel in Oman

Muscat: To enhance tourism services and infrastructure and encourage domestic tourism across various roads networks in Oman, the Ministry of Tourism plans to launch a number of integrated tourism stations.
About 17 integrated tourism stations under the Ministry of Tourism will be launched this year. They will include service, hospitality and tourism facilities that will provide world class services to road users under guidelines set by the Ministry.
The Ministry of Tourism earlier identified land plots that will be used as integrated tourism stations and divided them into three main groups after maintaining cooperation with the relevant authorities. The first group includes the proposed integrated tourism stations on Adam/Thumrait and Al Batinah Express roads.
Applications
The second group includes the applications made by individuals to set up integrated tourism stations. The Ministry pointed out that the applications that have been submitted have now been considered by the Ministry and those who meet requirements will be approved. The third group includes the integrated tourism stations on 17 locations
While agreements were signed for some land plots, other sites are awaiting amendments. Applications for getting land plots may be submitted by various categories of potential customers.
The integrated tourism stations will be distributed on the different land roads in the Sultanate and will add value by providing quality tourism services to road users.
The design guidelines specified by the Ministry of Tourism, each integrated tourism station should include petrol filling station, 2 or 3 star hotel facilities, air conditioned building for the fast food restaurants, retail shops, tourism information center, rest areas, child play areas, WCs and separate prayer rooms for men and women.
