48 hours with no water for Ibri and Yanqul residents in Oman

Muscat: A water shortage will affect Ibri and Yanqul residents within the next 48 hours, due to a technical malfunction with the water supply.

Diam (the Public Authority for Electricity and Water) has announced that a there has been a technical malfunction with the power supply line in the Wadi Al-Ain wells and Masarat basin.

"An electrical malfunction has caused a stop to the water pumping from the wells. Emergency measures have been implemented by activating the emergency generators on site," the authority said.

"However, as a result of the interruption in water pumping, water services are expected to be affected in Wilayat Ibri and Wilayat Yanqul for the next 48 hours," it added.

The Authority has called on subscribers to ration their consumption, and to contact their call centre for any issues, at (1442). The number is operational around the clock.
