Muscat: Two people were arrested for stealing charity boxes from mosques in Sohar, Royal Oman Police (ROP) officials announced.
ROP's Department of Criminal Investigation in Sohar has conducted search and investigation efforts, led by the police of North Batinah province, which resulted in the arrest of two individuals who seized and vandalised charity boxes from three mosques, and stole the charity funds.
The two defendants pleaded guilty to the alleged offences. The defendants were found in possession of some of the stolen funds, and the case were referred to the Public Prosecution to complete the investigation.
