Horse racing: Nafees of Royal Cavalry of Oman triumphs in France

Paris: The Royal Cavalry of Oman's stallion 'Nafees' won the 2000m race for the four-year olds at Qatar Derby for Pure-bred Arabian horses in Chantilly, France.
'Nafees' was ridden by Olivier Peslier and trained by Charles Gordon.
'Ahzar', owned by Jean-Marc De Watrigant, finished in second place. It was ridden by Pierre-Charles Boudot and trained by Damian Watrigant.
Yas Horse Racing's 'Bander', ridden by Ioritz Mendizabal settled for third place.
'Nafees' was one of the favourites after a successful return in the Prix Dormaine (Gr3 PA) and as expected took the top honours. The stallion also won the French Arabian Breeders’ Challenge (Gr2 PA) last year at Toulouse.
