Oman 'Summer Sports' activities from June 4

Muscat: The 2017 'Summer Sports' activities, organised by the Ministry of Sports Affairs in cooperation with the Omani Qatari Telecommunications Company 'Ooredoo', will begin on June 4.
This was revealed by the Ministry of Sports Affairs during an event organised at the ministry's headquarters on Wednesday.
This year's activities will run will August 31.
Ja'afar bin Abdullah Al Khabouri, General Manager of Management Planning at 'Ooredoo', spoke about the sports programme, which comes in line with the development of the individual, youth and sports capabilities in the society during the summer.
Saud bin Bader Ambusaidi, Director of the 'Summer Sports' programme, said that the programme is being held for the 12th consecutive year and witnessed a remarkable development.
He added that earlier the activities were limited and were held at sports centers and clubs but now they have been expanded with more venues, including sports teams, schools, beaches and public parks.
This year's programmes will include open days and youth training centers that target the age groups of five years and above, in addition to organising sports days for people with disabilities and women, as well as sports convoys that will tour various governorates of the Sultanate.
