His Majesty presides over Council of Ministers meeting

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said presided over a meeting of the Council of Ministers at Bait Al Barakah on Tuesday.
At the outset of the meeting, His Majesty the Sultan gave praise and thanks to the Almighty God for the riches with which He endowed Oman, praying to the Almighty that these riches may continue to prevail.
His Majesty congratulated the citizens, residents and the Islamic nation on the advent of the holy month of Ramadhan, hoping that it will be a month of bounty and blessings for all.
Then, His Majesty the Sultan reviewed local, regional and international conditions. On the domestic arena, His Majesty expressed satisfaction with the achievements of the country’s comprehensive development march, citing the good rates of growth that take into account the economic and social aspects and the efforts exerted by the government and the State’s institutions with a view to maintaining the services rendered to citizens.
His Majesty the Sultan also commended the efforts being made to support policies of economic diversification, which achieved a suitable progress within the current period.
His Majesty the Sultan thanked Omani citizens for their cooperation in making development programmes and plans a success, despite the unstable conditions being experienced by the world today.
His Majesty also hailed the significant role of Omani youth and underscored the need to encourage them, support their capabilities and upgrade their level of training to enable them to benefit from available opportunities.
In particular, His Majesty gave directives to accord more attention to the tourism sector and other sectors of economic potential, considering them as sources of investment that are capable of achieving a tangible return to the national income.
His Majesty the Sultan also underlined the importance of supporting efforts of project implementation and partnership with the private sector aimed at setting up new production projects that enhance sustainable development. In his review of regional and international developments, His Majesty the Sultan reaffirmed that the Sultanate will continue to support regional and international efforts aimed at rapprochement of views and reinforcement of understanding while dealing with issues in a manner that guarantees the security and stability of nations.
At the end of the meeting, His Majesty the Sultan touched upon issues of concern to citizens and gave his directives to all state institutions to continue exerting efforts to achieve the desired goals.
His Majesty wished success to all in the march to sustain the prosperity of Oman and its noble people.
