Transport ministry opens additional 34 km of Al Batinah Expressway project

Shinas: An additional 34 km of Al Batinah Expressway project, from Liwa crossroads to Al Uqr crossroads in the Wilayat of Shinas was opened by the Ministry of Transport and Communications on Monday.

The event was attended by Eng. Salim bin Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport and Communications for Transport and Sheikh Muhanna bin Saif Al Lamki, Governor of North Al Batinah, as well as a number of officials.
By this new addition, the length of the opened parts of Al Batinah Expressway has become 115 km.
The ministry had earlier opened traffic for 45 km from the first package, 18 km of the second package and 18 km of the sixth package. The traffic is now open for the first and sixth packages of the Al Batinah Expressway project.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications is currently implementing the Al Batinah Expressway from the end of Muscat Expressway in the Wilayat of Barka until Khatmat Milahah in the Wilayat of Shinas.
The project is one of the development projects included in the 8th five-year development plan 2011-2015.
