Oman Chess: Nomar emerges champion at ICMA tournament

Muscat: Nomar Sedgeigo of the Philippines was crowned the king of sixty four squares in the first Institute of Cost & Management Accountants (ICM) sponsored chess tournament here recently.
According to a statement issued by the organisers, Nomar scored 5.5 points out of a possible seven points in a wonderfully contested tournament. Compatriot Arnold Villassis finished second with five points. Rising young Indian player Siddharth Kumar put in a sterling performance to finish third with five points.
Vishal Ram took the top prize in the under-14 competition with four points.
Professor S.Sundar Rajan presided over the prize-giving ceremony and handed over the prizes.
