Oman Cricket: Cricket Cottage Oman to sponsor Zeeshan Maqsood

Muscat: Cricket Cottage Oman has come forward to sponsor Oman national team player Zeeshan Maqsood ahead of the Sultanate squad’s participation in the ICC World Cricket League (WCL) Division 3 competion in Uganda.
Waleed Al Balushi, General Manager, Retail & Wholesale of Cricket Cottage Oman, said they are ‘pleased to announce the sponsorship of Zeeshan Maqsood, a player from Oman national team that will take part in the ICC World Cricket League Division 3 in Uganda later this month’.
“Cricket Cottage Oman will also continue to sponsor Zeeshan in the upcoming seasons of Oman Cricket League as well,” he added.
As per the sponsorship agreement, Zeeshan will be using the cricketing equipment of brand HS from now on.
HS is a very well established brand in international cricket with its equipment being used by international players like Younis Khan, Sarfraz Ahmed, Babar Azam, Khuram Manzoor, Sohail Tanveer, Ahmed Shehzad, Mohammed Hafeez, Assan Priyanjan, Nkrumah Bonner, Shane Shillingford, Umar Akmal and Asela Gunaratne.
Waleed Al Balushi, meanwhile, thanked Mujahid Javed, owner of HS for the support.
Leg-handed Zeeshan Maqsood is a genuine all-rounder who opens the batting for the Oman team and bowls slow left-arm orthodox spin. He has been the architect for many a win for the national team in recent tournaments.
New initiative
Waleed Al Balushi, also stated that this was the beginning of a new initiative that Cricket Cottage is introducing to the market for the encouragement and development of cricketers in Oman.
“In future, Cricket Cottage Oman will identify more talented and deserving individual players, irrespective of the division that they play in, in various divisions of the Oman Cricket league and sponsor them. And provide them the cricketing gear and equipment which they otherwise cannot afford on their own.”
Waleed Al Balushi, himself is a very talented all-rounder, represents Al Hail Cricket Team in the Oman Cricket League.
