Oman among top two Arab countries on Global Open Data Index

Cambridge: Oman has been ranked second at the Arab countries' level in the 4th Edition of the Global Open Data Index, issued by Open Knowledge International, a Cambridge – based non-profit organisation.
Tunisia is ranked first at the Arab countries' level.
The Sultanate was ranked 81 at the world level. According to the index ranking, Australia came first followed by Taiwan, France, Britain, Canada, Denmark, New Zealand and Brazil, respectively.
The Global Open Data Index assesses the state of open government data worldwide and the extent of success of governments in execution of open data programmes and the impact of such programmes on the companies, policies and society.
