Oman, Luxembourg discuss bilateral ties

Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers on Wednesday received Jean Asselborn, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and his accompanying delegation. Asselborn conveyed greetings of Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg along with best wishes of permanent success to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and the Omani people further progress and prosperity.
The leaders discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and reviewed means of enhancing them in several fields, in addition to reviewing the current issues and latest developments in the regional and international arenas.
The Luxembourgian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs stressed the importance of this visit in cementing the ties between the two sides and boosting the positive outcomes resulting from the last visit of Prince Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg to the Sultanate. He also affirmed his country's appreciation to the wise policy being pursued by the Sultanate in its relations with countries around the world.
He also commended outcomes of his meetings with officials.
Sayyid Fahd asked him to convey greetings and best wishes of His Majesty the Sultan to the leadership in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Luxembourgian people further growth and welfare.
The meeting was attended by Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs.
Chairman of Majlis Al Shura
Khalid bin Hilal Al Ma'awali, Chairman of Majlis Al Shura received Jean Asselborn, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and his accompanying delegation.
The two sides reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries, means of developing and enhancing bilateral
cooperation in all fields including parliamentary aspects and benefiting from the democratic experience in the two countries.
The Chairman gave an overview about the stages of development of Majlis Al Shura, highlighting its legislative and
oversight powers.
