Oman Tennis: Mixed day for Fatma Al Nabhani in France

Muscat: Omani star Fatma Al Nabhani experienced a mixed day in the $15,000 Le Havre ITF Women’s Circuit tournament in France on Wednesday.
The Omani star failed to clear the first hurdle in the singles competition but advanced to the semifinals of the doubles event in the company of Romanian Daiana Negreanu.
In the first round of singles, second-seeded Fatma fought well against Russian qualifier Varvara Gracheva but could not stop her opponent winning the match 6-4, 2-6, 6-1.
Later in the doubles quarterfinals, Fatma and Daiana defeated Algeria’s Ines Ibbou and Luxembourg 6-4, 6-3.
