Muscat: More than 1,200 highly skilled artisans helped to shape Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar resort, which is situated 2,400 metres above sea level and is the Middle East’s highest hotel.
A spokesperson of S&T Interiors and Contracting said: ‘S&T Interiors and Contracting, along with its JV partner ALEC delivered turnkey construction and high-end joinery and gypsum works for Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar.
“S&T Interiors and Contracting has been a key partner to the project with a joint venture with UAE-headquartered Al Jaber Engineering & Contracting (ALEC), to deliver turnkey construction and high-end joinery and gypsum works for the resort. The scope of work covered all areas including the presidential suite, villas, lounge, library, main building, restaurants, pool, pool terrace and back offices.
“This luxurious resort has 33 swimming pools, 22 gated villas with swimming pools, and specialty Italian, Persian and Omani restaurants.
To manage the project over 1,200 artisans and helpers were deployed.
“The project had its share of challenges, including managing logistics for materials, transportation, negotiating the terrain, working in the cold and dry weather, the scarcity of potable water and altitude sickness. To overcome the logistics challenges we used 6x4 vehicles to transport materials safely and on time,” a spokesperson said.
