Oman to participate in GCC eGoverment meeting

Manama: Oman, represented by the Information Technology Authority (ITA) is participating in the fifth GCC eGovernment Ministerial Committee Meeting to be held on Wednesday.
The meeting is being hosted by the kingdom of Bahrain in the presence of their excellencies,’ the ministers responsible for eGovernment in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, the secretary general and a number of specialists from the GCC Council.
The Sultanate’s delegation is headed by Ahmed Mohammad Salim Al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communications and ITA’s chairman of the board of directors, along with Dr. Salim Bin Sultan Al-Ruzaiqi, chief executive officer of ITA and a number of specialists from ITA.
During the meeting, the ministerial committee will discuss the General Secretariat report on the joint initiatives contained in the framework of the pilot eGovernment Strategy, whose implementation was completed, in addition to the proposed joint initiatives to be implemented.
They also will discuss GCC information security and strategy and other proposed items on the agenda.
