Central processing facility of Oman's Khazzan gas field progressing well

Muscat: Located on a previously undeveloped site nearly 350kms south of Muscat, the Khazzan natural gas field is expected to deliver its first gas shipment by the end of 2017.
Authorities have confirmed that 38 of the 50 wells needed for production are already drilled, according to BP, which holds a majority interest in this project.
Further, infrastructure on this site is already in place, including 56kms of roads, power lines, including broadband and a network that extend thousands of meters, and a 60km water pipeline from Hanya. Water treatment, a waste management area and electricity substation have also been installed, along with accommodations for a construction workforce of up to 12,000.
Phase One is expected to produce one billion cubic feet of gas every day, and 1.5 billion cubic feet for the Omani economy upon completion of Phase Two, which would account for one-third of the nation’s domestic gas production. Phase Two is expected to come on stream in 2020.
