Oman Football: Coach Verbeek calls up home-based players for training camp

Muscat: Oman national football team coach Pim Verbeek has called up 27 home based players for an internal training camp that will take place from March 5 to 9.
The domestic camp has been arranged by the Oman Football Association as part of the team’s preparations for the Asian Cup qualifying match against visiting Bhutan on March 28.
The players called for camp are Faiz Al Rashidi (Al Nasr), Abdulaziz Al Maqbali, Mohammed Al Mashari, Saad Suhail Al Mukhaini, Basil Al Rawahi (Fanja), Abdulsalam Al Mukhaini, Nader Bashir, Ali Al Busaidi, Raed Ibrahim, Qasim Said, Riyadh Al Alawi, Hisham Al Shuaibi, Abdullah Arafa (Dhofar), Omar Al Maliki, Abdulmajid Al Yahmadi, Jamil Al Yahmadi (Al Shabab), Ibrahim Al Mukhaini, Khalid Al Alawi, Sami Al Hasani, Saud Al Farsi (Al Auroba), Ayman Dhahi, Hatem Khamis Al Hamhami (Oman), Jaber Al Awaisi, Hamad Al Habsi (Muscat), Ali Al Jabri (Al Nahda) and Esam Al Barh (Al Rustaq).
The coach has not included the players from Saham and Suwaiq as the two clubs are currently taking part in the AFC Cup.
The Dutchman will include the professional players who playing abroad for the second camp that will start on March 20.

Meanwhile, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has selected Omani referee Turki Abdullah Al Salehi to officiate at Asian Beach Soccer Championship, to organised in in Malaysia from March 4 to 11.
Talib Hilal Al Thanawi’s Oman national team, meanwhile, played two friendly matches against Switzerland as part of their preparations for the Asian championship. Oman won both matches played during the last weekend by 9-4 and 5-4 margins.
Talib Hilal’s list of players includes Yahya Al Araimi, Hani Al Dhabit, Jalal Al Sinani, Abdullah Al Sooti, Munther Al Araimi, Haitham Al Amrani , Khza’al Al Battashi, Khalid Al Araimi, Amjad Al Hamadani, Nouh Al Zadjali, Mishal Al Araimi, Abdullah Al Balushi and Abdulaziz Al Raqadi.
