Muscat: Majlis Al Shura Chairman Khalid bin Hilal Al Ma'awali said that the sports minister's statement addressed a number of topics, including the Omani sport strategy, its foundations, achievements, facilities, legislative laws that govern the sports sector so as to enhance its contribution towards the younger generation as they are the core and target of development.
Khalid bin Hilal Al Ma'awali explained that the minister would address the difficulties of persons with disabilities and highlight their achievements, the support provided by the ministry to this category, materially and morally, as well as support for private sports teams as incubators that attract the younger generation in various age groups.
The Minister of Sports Affairs delivered the statement of his ministry in which he reviewed the different themes relating to sports reality in the Sultanate.
Majlis Al Shura discussed yesterday the statement of Sheikh Sa'ad bin Mohammed Al Mardof Al Saadi, Minister of Sports Affairs, during the tenth regular session of the second annual sitting (2016-2017) of the eighth term (2015/2019) under the chair of Khalid bin Hilal Al Ma'awali.
