Oman Tennis: Kaavya wins girls U-14 title at ISC tourney

Muscat: Kaavya Jayakumar cornered glory at the ISC-Muscat Pharmacy Open Junior Tennis Tournament organised by the Indian Social Club (ISC) winning the girls under-14 singles title.
In the final, Kaavya played with grit and determination and held her nerves before claiming the girls under-14 singles title with a hard-fought 6-3, 7-5 victory over Saffanah Al Riyami.
Kaavya was in her elements and won the the first set convincingly but faced a stern test of her nerves in the second set as talented Saffanah rallied from 1-3 down and broke Kaavya’s serve twice for 4-all and held for the crucial 5-4 lead.
Kaavya broke Saffanah in the eleventh game and served out to win the girls under-14 title.
