Oman Hockey: ISG Blue emerge inter-school champions

Muscat: Indian School Al Ghubra (ISG) Blue team won the title at the Foodlands Cup Inter-school Tournament organised as part of the UTSC Starcare Cup Gulf Hockey Fiesta at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Stadium on Saturday.
In a one-sided final, ISG Blue defeated ISG Green by a 6-1 margin to emerge the champions.
Earlier in the semifinals, ISG Blue defeated Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir 4-1 and ISG Green beat Indian School Mabella 5-1.
ISC Blue captain P. Ponnanna also bagged best player and top scorer awards while his teammate Salman Salim took the best defender award.
ISWK’s Faris and Adam Raffi won the best goalkeeper and promising player awards respectively.
Besides Ponnanna and Adam Raffi, ISG Blue team also comprised Aman Bhatnagar, Avnish Kumar, Ajin Jacob, Shravan Kuloor Narayana, Sarvesh Ramesh, Gopal Charan and Snehit Kumar.

ISG Green consisted of Satvik Pathak (captain), Adithya Rajesh, Shivam Ajay Saraf, Azzan Bin Aziz, Ankit Thomas, Vijey Viknesh, Deepash Shukla and Shrey Sharma.
Girls match
The organises also hosted an exhibition match between two girls teams of Indian School Mabella. In a keenly-contested match, the school’s Blue team defeated Red team 4-1.
The inter-school tournament was sponsored Foodlands Restaurant.
