Book on noted Islamic scholar released in Oman

Muscat: A new book of quotations by Sheikh Khalfan Al Esry, the late Islamic scholar and motivational speaker, has been published to honour his legacy.
“The book is a compilation of tweets by Sheikh Khalfan, who entrusted me before his deathto work on it,” said Salim bin Saeed Al Esry.
Sheikh Khalfan, whose death in May 2015 was widely mourned in Oman, was nationally renowned as a motivational speaker, with the Omani youth especially finding him inspiring. “Sheikh Khalfan was most active on Twitter, and had 70,000 followers with whom he interacted right till his death,” Salim Al Esry explained.
“The idea behind this book, and especially the tweets, is to show his positivity and spiritedness even during his days of struggle with cancer.”
The quotations in the book are divided into different categories, including self-help, leadership, social development, religion and spirituality, as well as personal development.
“He was very open about his illness, and wanted to spread this understanding of positive growth even through this illness,” Salim Al Esrysaid.
The late speaker tweeted many posts with the hashtag, #ThisIllnessTaughtMe, wherein he expressed his takeaways from struggling with cancer.
“We have included this category particularly as a way to motivate others, using the Sheikh’s thoughts on resilience, hard work, confidence, and hope for the future,” Salim Al Esry added.
The book can be purchased from bookshops in Oman. The Sultanate’s libraries will also have this book.
