His Majesty Sultan Qaboos welcomes Iranian president

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said received President Dr. Hassan Rouhani of the Islamic Republic of Iran who arrived here on a one-day business visit.
An official welcome ceremony was held for the Iranian president. On the arrival of the Iranian president motorcade at Al Alam Palace Guest house, His Majesty the Sultan led the welcoming party for the Iranian president. His Majesty accompanied the guest to the Dais of Honour where the National Anthem of Iran was played while the artillery fired a twenty-one gun salute for the Iranian president.
His Majesty the Sultan shook hands with members of the official delegation accompanying the Iranian president. The president of Iran also shook hands with their highnesses, the Chairmen of the State Council and Majlis Al Shura, ministers, commanders of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), Royal Oman Police (ROP), and members of the Mission of Honour accompanying the Iranian president.
Later, His Majesty the Sultan and the Iranian president proceeded to the hall and exchanged cordial conversations. The two leaders reviewed the strong relations binding the two countries, existing cooperation between the Sultanate and Iran and means of promoting it in various fields to serve the interests of Omani and Iranian people.
The meeting was attended from the Omani side by His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court and General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office.
Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib Al Busaidi, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs, Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdul Malik bin Abdullah Al Khalili, Minister of Justice, Dr. Fu’ad bin Ja’afar Al Sagwani, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries (Head of the Mission of Honour accompanying the Guest) and Saud bin Ahmed Al Barwani, Sultanate’s Ambassador to Iran also attended the meeting. From the Iranian side it was attended by the official delegation accompanying the Iranian president.
