Rain likely to continue in Oman

Muscat: Light to moderate rain likely to continue until Saturday, according to Oman Meteorology Department.
“We are expecting rain in the northern governorates of Oman including Muscat on Saturday,” an official of Oman Meteorology department said.
Officials also expect a considerable drop in temperature in the weekend. “We are expecting rain in the governorates of Musandam, Buraimi, Al Dahirah and coastal areas of Oman Sea including Muscat on Saturday,” the official said.
Latest analysis shows that the Sultanate got affected by a trough with chances isolated rain over northern governorates from Tuesday to Saturday.
In its weather outlook, the Oman Meteorology department said cloudy skies over governorates of Musandam, north and south Al Batinah, Muscat, Al Buraimi, Dhofar and western part of Al -Hajar Mountains of the Sultanate with chances of isolated rain.
Sea is expected to be rough during this time.
Recently, several areas in Oman witnessed snowfall as temperatures drastically dipped following winter rains in the weekend.
Oman’s northern Musandam region was hit by hail and snow for two consecutive days. Snow also covered Jabal Akhdar and Jabal Shams of Al Hajar Mountain range.
