Oman’s history, rich heritage showcased in Lithuania

Vilnius: An event shedding light on the Sultanate’s history, rich heritage and achievements in various spheres during the blessed era of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said kicked off in Vilnius yesterday. The event will continue until February 28.
The activities of Jawhar Oman “Essence of Oman” has been organised by the Ministry of Information in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry and a number of departments and civil institutions under the auspices of Neris Germanas, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania.
The function began in the presence of Dr. Abdulmoneim bin Mansour Al Hasani Minister of Information and Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al Busaidi, Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry.
The activities will include a photography exhibition depicting the historic, tourism and natural aspects of the governorates, documentaries on the Sultanate and pavilions for Omani books, traditional crafts and products, Omani dress and frankincense .
Omani Lute Amateurs Association is also taking part in the activities of the event.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by a number of Lithuanian government officials, ambassadors, businessmen and mediapersons from both sides.
