Labour Law violators held in Oman

Muscat: 38 violators were arrested in Buraimi last month in a bid to regulate the labor market.

31 violators were arrested for violating conditions cited in their commercial licenses while 3 were private workers followed by 4 who were farmers.

After investigations, 31 violators absconded from their employers while the remaining 7 were released from their contracts.

Meanwhile during the same period, the Ministry of Manpower deported 43 violators. 37 worked in commercial establishments followed while the remaining 5 were private workers.

The ministry received 70 reports of absconded workers during January 2017.
