Oman tennis: Fatma Al Nabhani settles for another second place in Egypt

Muscat: Oman’s Fatma Al Nabhani settled for two runners-up places in two days when she lost the singles final to Romania’s Cristina Ene in the $15,000 ITF Pro Circuit Cairo tournament in Egypt on Sunday.
After being broken early in the second set, the fourth-seeded Omani tried to fight back against the seventh-seeded opponent but failed to stop the Romanian from winning the match and the title with a 6-2, 7-5 scoreline.
A day earlier, Fatma had to settle for the second place in the doubles when Akaya Okuno of Japana and Slovakia’s Chantal Skamlova defeated the Omani star and her Egyptian partner Sandra Samir 6-3, 6-1 in the final.
Fatma and Sandra also finished runners-up in the first of the two Cairo tournaments held from January 18 to 22 losing the summit clash to the same opponents - Akaya Okuno and Chantal Skamlova.
