IOC representative to attend OOC General Assembly

Muscat: The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has nominated Hussain Al Musallam, Director General of Olympic Council of Asia, to attend the Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) General Assembly and the board elections on Tuesday.
According to a press statement issued by the OOC on Tuesday, the General Assembly will take place at the City Seasons Hotel from 11.00 a.m.
“The meeting includes an opening address by Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Zubair, OOC Chairman, followed by review of the agenda items, reports on OOC’s activities and events, balance sheet and final accounts for the past period,” the statement said.
“It is noteworthy that the election supervisory committee announced in December 2016 the final list of candidates to the board for the upcoming term of office. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Zubair is nominated for the post of chairman, Sheikh Saif bin Hilal Al Hosni for the post of vice-chairman, Taha bin Sulaiman Al Kishry for the post of secretary-general, Oman Tennis Association chief Khalid bin Ali Al Aadi for the post treasurer.”
“Candidates for the board membership are Fareed bin Khamis Al Zadjali, Chairman of Oman Basketball Association, Mohsin bin Hamad Al Masroori, First Vice-Chairman of Oman Football Association, and Sheikh Badr bin Ali Al Rawas, Chairman of Oman Volleyball Association. Saada bint Salim Al Ismailiyah is nominated for the post of representative of Oman Women’s Sport Committee,” the statement added.
